B10 Cable Car Tour Light
Description
Scenic cable cars tour over the ridge of the Wispile to Lauenen and via Gstaad to Schönried, to the Horneggli and back down to Gstaad.
After the ascent with the Wispile gondola, the trail starts on the left side of the mountain restaurant and then runs along the ridge of the Wispile to the "Chrinetritt". There the hiking trail splits, and the route follows the path leading right towards Gsteig. After this short descent to the alpine hut "Chrine", a short climb follows back to the "Chrine Pass". There you follow the hiking trail towards Lauenen and on a side road and hiking trail back to Gstaad and through the promenade. Leaving Gstaad, follow bike route no. 9 up to Schönried to the Horneggli valley station. After the ascent on the Horneggli chairlift, the route leads to Hornberg. From there, you can enjoy the view over the Saanenland before descending along the alproad to Oberer Stutz, where you join the Schwafwald Trail. This challenging trail is the crowning finale of this mountain railway tour.
The unmarked tour mainly follows single tracks and natural tracks, with only a short section on tarmac side roads.
Many sections with large obstacles such as boulders and large roots. Many hairpin and off-balance turns. Slippery surface and talus. Gradient above 70%. Constant concentration and very good bike control and balance needed.
