Covering approximately 52 kilometres, the route features spectacular alpine panoramas, scenic high-altitude trails, varied singletracks and historic mountain passes, all set within one of Switzerland's most impressive mountain landscapes.

The recommended direction starts at Lauchernalp in the Lötschental and leads through the Torrent area to Leukerbad. After spending a night in Europe's largest alpine thermal spa resort, the second stage continues across the historic Gemmi Pass to Kandersteg, where this unforgettable adventure reaches its perfect finale.

This tour is designed for mountain bikers and e-mountain bikers with a good level of fitness. It combines enjoyable alpine and gravel roads with varied singletracks. The technical difficulty is mainly rated S1 to S2, making it suitable for experienced recreational riders as well as active Best Agers. Thanks to the mountain lifts, the physical effort can easily be adapted to individual fitness levels and riding abilities.

Guided steps

Lauchernalp mountain cable car station, Lötschental The tour can be ridden in either direction. However, the recommended route is from Lauchernalp via Leukerbad to Kandersteg.

Getting There: We recommend arriving the day before and spending your first night either at Lauchernalp or somewhere in the Lötschental. This allows you to begin your adventure relaxed and gives you time to explore the region.

Day 1: Lauchernalp – Leukerbad

The tour begins at Lauchernalp and follows scenic high-altitude trails, varied singletracks and beautiful alpine landscapes towards the Torrent area before descending to Leukerbad. Along the way, several alpine restaurants and mountain huts provide ideal places to stop for refreshments.

The first stage ends in Leukerbad, where comfortable hotels, regional cuisine and the famous thermal baths await.

Day 2: Leukerbad – Gemmi – Kandersteg

After a restful night, the second stage begins with the Gemmi cable car taking you up to the historic Gemmi Pass. From there, the route continues through spectacular alpine scenery, varied natural trails and breathtaking landscapes on the way to Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland.

Enjoy your evening in one of Kandersteg's restaurants and stay overnight before travelling home or extending your holiday.

The route combines gravel roads, alpine tracks and natural singletracks. Most sections are rated between S1 and S2. Depending on weather conditions and the trail surface, some parts may be slightly more demanding, but they remain suitable for experienced recreational mountain bikers and e-mountain bikers.
