Plattjen Bike
Description
The route on the wild mountain is ideal for mountain bikers. Varied trails, great views, and little opposing traffic.
The bike trail starts at the Gletscherbrücke in Saas-Fee. From the street, turn right towards the sports field and follow the forest road towards the Plattjen mountain station. Passing the Felskinn valley station and through the larch forest, it goes ever higher. After a hairpin turn, the forest road ends and the most strenuous part of the route is done.
At the end of the forest road, the path turns right and the rapid descent over the ski slope begins. Zigzagging, it passes the Gallenalp to the Spielboden valley station.
Smaller obstacles like roots and small stones that can be ridden over. Soil may be loose in places and there may be erosion damage. Tight turns, but no hairpin turns. Gradient up to 40%. Riding requires care and attention, but no special skill.
