Conquer the Torrent region and the Rinderhütte mountain station (2350 m above sea level) - the starting point of numerous other biking routes - by ...
What the cable car can do, you can do yourself? Then let’s go! On this technically easy route, the focus is once on elevation and a phenomenal view. But this must first be earned by a climb of 1000 vertical meters. Arrived at the Rinderhütte mountain station, there is also the possibility to join another bike tour. Otherwise, let yourself glide down as planned via a scenic mountain and forest road to the village of Leukerbad.
Gravel or packed earth. The path has no particular difficulties and mostly consists of forest and meadow paths. Wide curves, easy to moderate slope. No special skills are needed to ride this.
Leukerbad
The route starts at the town hall and passes the valley station of the Leukerbad aerial cableway. Via a short nature trail, you reach the main road towards Albinen and pedal uphill through the tunnel (at the Albinen ladders) and turn left to the Flaschen valley station. Via the narrow, paved side road with a constant incline, you zigzag up to the idyllic Torrentalp. Via the panoramic trail, you finally reach the Rinderhütte mountain station.
The descent leads over a natural mountain road and later downwards on a forest path. Via Folljeret and the Weidstübli restaurant, you rush back to the village of Leukerbad. The descent is steeper and a bit rougher than the ascent but does not pose a real technical challenge.
Pay attention to good brakes, as this route is also used by scooters, e-scooters, and hikers. Mutual consideration and tolerance are important.
