Description
Set off on a delightful family circular walk around Lac de Bretaye, perched at an altitude of almost 1,800 metres.
For easy access, take the cogwheel train from Villars station to Bretaye.
From Bretaye station, it's just a short walk to the lake, which you can then stroll along while admiring the magnificent Alpine scenery. Along the way, a picnic table by the water invites you to take a pleasant break in a soothing setting.
And don't forget to stop in front of the Bretaye Commemorative Stone. Erected in 1948 by Colonel Louis Chamorel of Gryon, it pays tribute to the courage of the people of Orléans during the Vaud Revolution of 1798.

Parking in Villars
- Parking du Centenaire, opposite the station (fee payable)
- Parking de Rochegrises, 200m from the train stop of the same name, free of charge, limited to 10 hours
