BIKE RIDE IN THE AUGSTBORD REGION: A complete route through the entire Augstbord region! This moderately challenging bike route, which winds through the sunny mountain villages of Unterbäch, Eischoll, Ergisch, and Bürchen, will delight all your senses. The route starts in Unterbäch with a short stretch along the main road toward Eischoll. It’s worth taking a short detour to visit the village’s magnificent historic center before embarking on the approximately 5-km descent to the junction leading toward Ergisch. It’s over the next 16 km that the real challenge begins for cyclists. But don’t worry: along the way, you’ll come across numerous enchanting spots that are well worth a stop to catch your breath. You’ll reach the village of Ergisch very quickly. This picturesque village stands like a sentinel at the mouth of the Turtmann Valley, which is both wild and romantic. The route continues to climb up to the magnificent Obermatte plateau (1,550 m above sea level), where you’ll have your first chance to enjoy the breathtaking panorama in complete tranquility.
