Description

A walk to explore Europe's largest erosion cirque.
The Illgraben is a massive rocky cirque overlooking the Rhône Valley. It was formed by the collapse of the Illgraben mountain in the 14th century due to erosion. It is also one of the most active debris flow channels in the Swiss Alps: debris flows can be observed several times a year.
