The starting point of the route is at Haus Lärchenwald above Leukerbad. The trail leads steadily uphill through a snowy forest path to Alpe Foljeret, a small high plateau above the village. This section partly runs parallel to the ski area's valley slope – please pay special attention to the marked snowshoe path here. At the top, Alpe Foljeret offers a first rest opportunity with a great view of the Daubenhorn and the village far below. The seclusion and the open view make this place particularly impressive. The descent continues towards the Weidstübli restaurant, which is ideal for a stop. From there, follow the Maressen slope downhill until you finally reach the Obere Maressen – the endpoint of this scenic snowshoe hike.
