Description

Set off on a culinary and scenic adventure in the heart of the Vaud Alps, a gentle descent from the summit of La Berneuse down to Leysin, taking in the lakes and mountain refreshment stops along the way.
This unique itinerary combines the pleasure of walking with the discovery of local specialities, all in a spectacular Alpine setting. The route starts from the famous revolving restaurant Le Kuklos, at an altitude of over 2,000 metres. As soon as you set off, you'll lose yourself in a 360° panorama of the Alps, from Mont Blanc to the Dents du Midi. The route then takes you in the direction of the village of Aï, a charming mountain hamlet, where an initial gourmet break awaits you. You continue downhill to Le Mayen, a typical refreshment bar where you can sample local produce in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The walk continues as far as the Témley mountain pasture, where a must-see: the cheese-making demonstration (June to September). It's the perfect opportunity to discover the traditional skills of the mountain pastures and taste a freshly matured cheese. Next, the path leads you to the Prafandaz restaurant, renowned for its terrace with breathtaking views and its menu combining traditional Swiss and Chinese cuisine. A final gourmet stop before returning to the start of the ski lifts, which mark the end of the route. The route can be taken in either direction, depending on your mood and fitness level. Starting from the bottom, the most athletic will take on a challenge of +800 metres of positive ascent, ideal for earning every mouthful! Those who prefer a gentler pace can opt for a descent from the Kuklos, enjoying the scenery and delicacies at every turn. A complete experience combining nature, tradition and gastronomy, perfect for lovers of the mountains and good things.

Transport

Access / Parking - This route starts at the Leysin-Berneuse cable car station. A pay-and-display car park is located next to the ski lift departure point. Ski lift fares can be found on the Télé Leysin - Les Mosses - La Lécherette website.
