The hike starts at Hannigalp above Grächen. The path leads through the forest southbound to the Furggen viewpoint. In the first part, you hike over exposed paths and ditches past the Stock to the Rote Biel above Eisten. From the Rote Biel you descend through the larch forest down to Schweibbach. The path continues sideways and upwards to Lammugrabu. There you cross a huge scree field. According to legend, a dragon once gnawed on the mountain here and was banished by the people of Saas. Over the Schilt above Saas-Balen and the following Stafelälpji, you reach Senggbodu below the Spilboden (not on the route), which is said to be cursed. After Senggbodu, you come through the larch forest onto a wide path that passes the Bä Rufalla and leads to Saas-Fee.
