The path starts in Saas-Almagell Lehn at the bridge crossing the Almagellerbach and goes steeply uphill towards Spissgrabe and Mittli Flüe to the Chüelbrunnji. From there, the path climbs gently and mostly follows the Almagellerbach to the Almagelleralp. Following the Almagellerbach, the path then leads left (uphill seen) up to the Almagellerhütte, which lies in a rocky area at 2,894 m above sea level: Up there, conditions are optimal to spot ibexes.
Transport
The Saastal is easily and conveniently accessible by car from all directions, whether from Switzerland or abroad. From the north, you reach us via Bern through the Lötschberg car transport. From the east, you come via the Furka Pass or the Furka car transport. From the south, we are accessible via the Simplon Pass or the Simplon car transport, and from the west, you drive via Lausanne along the Rhone valley to Visp and from there towards Saas-Fee. From Visp, drive south in the direction of Saas-Fee. At the "Killerhof" roundabout near Stalden, take the second exit towards Saas-Fee. In Saas-Grund, turn left after the church towards Saas-Almagell.
