The start of this route is at the village square in Leukerbad. Via an underpass of the thermal hotels, a lovely path ascends through a small larch forest. You will notice a huge stone or retaining wall. It dates back to the 18th/19th century and is still considered a pioneering achievement in avalanche protection today. Soon you will also reach the idyllically situated restaurant Weidstübli. If you wish, you can enjoy culinary delights during a stop here. Due to its favorable location, the path is almost always open in winter.
