A scenic hike of moderate difficulty with three options ranging from 1.5 to 4 hours, connecting Leysin from the Carrière des Chamois to the ski slopes at the top of the Tête d'Aï chairlift.
Panoramic snowshoe hike connecting the village of Leysin and the top of the ski slopes, passing by the "Buvette du Temeley"https://www.alpesvaudoises.ch/en/P3951/leysin/the-temeleyand the "Refuge de Mayen". This route offers three options: - Ascent by chairlift and descent on snowshoes: 1½ hours. - Ascent on snowshoes and descent by chairlift: 2½ hours. - Complete route on snowshoes: 4 hours. The trail occasionally crosses ski slopes, but mainly follows clear paths offering superb views of the surrounding peaks. Take care on slopes, which can be slippery depending on snow conditions

Transport

Parking - This route starts from the paid car park at the ski lifts if you are only doing the descent on snowshoes, or from the free car park at the Chamois quarry if you are doing the ascent. Public transport access - Access the start of the route by public transport with the free Leysin shuttle bus, getting off at the ‘Télécabine Berneuse’ stop on line 171 for the chairlift ride, or at the ‘Grand Hotel-Virage’ stop to reach the Chamois quarry on foot (10 minutes). Food & Beverages - The route passes by the Buvette du Temeley and the Refuge de Mayen, an ideal spot for a tasty and convivial break, where young and old alike can enjoy themselves in an authentic setting. Safety - The route occasionally crosses a ski slope, so please watch out for skiers. Some slopes may be slippery depending on snow conditions.
