Plan-Francey au Sommet par Bonne Fontaine
Description
The Moléson, the symbol of the Canton of Fribourg, rises to a height of 2,002 metres. Although the accounts of its ascent in the early issues of the Swiss Alpine Club give the impression of a Himalayan expedition, the hike is perfectly manageable for experienced walkers. The mountain path is well signposted but relatively steep. The summit is easily reached from the restaurant and offers a breathtaking view over much of French-speaking Switzerland. There you will also find one of the iron pyramids used during the first topographical surveys of Switzerland. Tip: you can combine this hike with one of the special evenings organised by the restaurant ‘Le Sommet’.
