Description

Ascent: 5h30 / Descent: 3h30
Physical 1700m + uphill hike, through varying landscapes from the green forests and waterfalls to the dry yellow rockis and the eternal snows of the glaciers.

A spruce forest and picturesque waterfalls line the mountain path from the Reusch valley station up to Oldenalp. After the wild and mineral-rich Oldental comes the Oldensattel with the Tsanfleuron Glacier nearby. On the steep final ascent of this demanding hike of over five hours, your gaze falls upon the eternal ice – and is magically drawn by its beauty. Upon reaching Oldenhorn (3,122 m), a spectacular panorama opens up with the 24 peaks over 4,000 meters of the impressive Alpine chain.

Transport

Glacier 3000 is easily accessible by car from the Lake Thun region (Spiez), the Lake Geneva area (Aigle), and the Gruyère region (Bulle).
