Description

Also known as the Tête aux Chamois via ferrata, this route perfectly illustrates the athletic demands of this sport, which combines rock climbing and high-mountain hiking. Regarded as challenging, this via ferrata is reserved for experienced climbers who aren’t afraid of a challenge!
The Rocher Jaune via ferrata is moderately technical, but it requires strength and a fair bit of courage on a few sections. The route follows a ledge with a sense of being high up, some parts of which are comfortably wide, whilst others narrow considerably. Highlights: the crossing of the Rocher Jaune involves passing through a tiny cave, crouching low as you make your way along a wooden beam. After more than two hours of exertion and thrills, climbers are rewarded with a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the valley. Located near the Cabane des Diablerets, the start of the Rocher Jaune via ferrata is accessible on foot from the village or from the Col du Pillon, but the easiest way is to take the Glacier 3000 cable car. This allows you to save your energy for tackling the via ferrata’s demanding route.
