The winter hiking trail starts directly at the Sportarena in Leukerbad and follows a well-maintained snow trail through sunny slopes, snowy meadows, and past typical Valais wooden barns. After a pleasant section towards Birchen, you reach the hamlet with the small Antonius Chapel – a nice spot for a first break.
From there it continues to Bodmen, where the small restaurant Bodmenstübli invites you for a meal in good weather. The return path follows the same track back to Leukerbad. The route is almost flat, very well signposted, and perfect for quiet winter days, even without snowshoes.
