Wonderful marked snowshoe trail from the Wispile mountain station via Chrine Pass to Lauenen / Current status report: https://www.gstaad.ch/en ...
From the Wispile mountain station, a winter hiking trail leads over the Wispile ridge to Chrinetritt and continues as a popular toboggan run to Gsteig. Parallel to the winter hiking trail, there are wonderful deep snow fields over the entire ridge, which are excellent for snowshoeing. In addition, there is a beautiful view of the mountain world of the Saanenland. Halfway to Chrinetritt, at the alpine huts of Vorder Höji Wispile, you will find a wooden fondue caquelon. Here you can enjoy your brought fondue in a unique setting.
Those who have had enough of the powder snow can switch back to the winter hiking trail and follow it via Chrinetritt and further down to the alpine huts of Chrine. Here the winter hiking trail to Gsteig and the signposted snowshoe trail to Lauenen separate. A short ascent to Chrine follows, the well-known crossing between Gsteig and Lauenen. Then comes a wonderful descent through a snowy fir forest. The trail mostly follows the route of the summer hiking trail in this area. In the Brüchli area, you leave the forest and enjoy a nice panorama towards the opposite Lauenehore and Wasserngrat. Further down, at the ski lift mountain station, you leave the quiet winter landscape. At the edge of the ski slope (attention skiers), the trail leads down towards Lauenen. The Hotel Alpenland with its beautiful terrace and grand panorama welcomes you for a well-deserved rest at the destination.
The route can also be done in the opposite direction.
