Description
This snowshoe route leads away from the ski slopes on old paths through the Schliechtuwald and is also suitable for beginners.
The Schliechtuwald Trail begins in the Wildi district of Saas-Fee and leads left of the forest road into the forest. The trail follows the old paths of the Schliechtuwald in a zigzag, slightly ascending. The highest point of the route is shortly before Mälchbodu, where the trail joins the groomed path. This leads left down to the Hohneggu, where there are several descent options into the village.
Optionally, at Mälchbodu, an additional loop can be added to the mountain restaurant Alpenblick, which invites you to linger with its sun terrace.
Transport
The Saas valley is easily and comfortably accessible by car from all directions, whether from Switzerland or abroad. From the north, reach us via Bern through the Lötschberg car shuttle. From the east, you come over the Furka Pass or the Furka car shuttle. From the south, we are reachable via the Simplon Pass or Simplon car shuttle, and from the west, you drive via Lausanne along the Rhone valley to Visp and from there towards Saas-Fee.
**From Visp** you drive south towards Saas-Fee. In the "Killerhof" roundabout near Stalden, take the second exit towards Saas-Fee. In Saas-Grund, after the church, turn right towards Saas-Fee.
