Description

Small but exquisite: The St. Antoni Trail leads from Saas-Balen through the snow-covered forest to the Antonius Chapel in Bidermatten and back to ...
**Important! Parts of the trail are free of snow and must be walked without snowshoes.**The trail starts at the village square of Saas-Balen and initially follows the village street to the junction at the Fellbach waterfall. From here, the trail follows the right-turning field road. Slowly you climb on this field road up to the first curve, which is also the highest point of the route. Shortly before this curve, the path turns right into the forest. Through the snow-covered forest, you follow the path to the Antonius Chapel. In front of the chapel, the path leads straight downhill. Now, you follow for long stretches the old valley path. This leads above the cantonal road over snowy meadows and through the forest to the forestry depot. The last section leads on a forest road back to the village of Saas-Balen.
