Bogs are wet, nutrient-poor and acidic habitats. Only very hardy and undemanding plants and animals can survive here. As a result, you’ll find ‘specialists’ such as sedges, rushes, cottongrass and orchids in the bogs. Their distinctive colours and shapes characterise the landscape. Information boards along the path explain this valuable ecosystem.
Transport
The Gstaad holiday region is located in the southwest of Switzerland, immediately on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun Lake region, the Geneva Lake area and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and all international airports of Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and comfortable arrival.
