A very demanding hike with steep slopes, passing through Chaux de Mont and Chaux de Tompey. A short, slightly exposed section between the two adds a touch of technical difficulty. Recommended for experienced hikers only. True to its name, this hike is aimed at seasoned walkers seeking a real physical challenge. The route is strenuous from start to finish, with a sustained and often very steep ascent that will test endurance and determination. Along the way, beautiful panoramic views reward the effort. The slightly exposed section between the two Chaux, while not particularly dangerous, still requires careful footing and confidence. This hike is therefore best suited to experienced hikers who are comfortable on steep, rugged terrain and able to sustain prolonged effort on sharp inclines.
