Hike over the Wispile ridge to the Fondue Caquelon and enjoy the mountain panorama and the fondue from your backpack there.
You can conveniently reach Berghaus Wispile (1907 m) by gondola, where the hike starts. Always follow the ridge towards Gsteig/Lauenensee and enjoy the mountain panorama. After about 40 minutes you will reach the huge [Fondue Caquelon](https://www.gstaad.ch/planen-buchen/poi/detail/fondue-caquelon-vorderi-wispile) on the right side. It offers space for up to eight people and cannot be reserved.
**Return:** You can hike back the same way to the Wispile mountain station or extend your hike towards Chrine-Lauenensee or Chrine-Gsteig.
Please observe the operating times of the mountain lifts.
Direct access by mountain bike is possible.
Direct access by car to the huge Fondue Caquelon is not possible.
Transport
The holiday region Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, directly at the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun Lake region, the Geneva Lake area, and the Gruyère region.
