Description

Scenic hike from Sparenmoos to Jaunpass.
The hike starts at the Sparenmoos parking lot. Over the gently rising plain Nüjeberg, the hiking trail leads to Alp Schiltenegg. From here, the terrain gets a bit steeper. Over the broad southeast ridge you reach the summit of Hundsrügg (2047 m above sea level). The path then continues always along the ridge with a fantastic panoramic view. The hiking view repeatedly sweeps over breathtaking Alps such as Stockhorn, the Vaud Alps, Bernese Alps, the Wildstrubel, and down into the picturesque Simmental. Above all, the mountain range with the Gastlosen, the Sattelspitzen, the impressive Wandfluh, as well as the Zuckerspitz and Dent de Ruth attract attention. At the end of the ridge, you reach the unstaffed SAC/CAS Cabane de l'Oberegg. Over alpine pastures and a farm track, you reach Jaunpass. The hike can also be done in reverse direction.
