Description
Cozy winter hike through the snowy larch forest from Saas-Fee to the Waldhüs Bodmen.
The path begins in the glacier village of Saas-Fee and leads from the post station down to the panoramic bridge that crosses a deep gorge. After the bridge and a short section straight ahead, a forest path branches off to the left. This leads slightly uphill to the Grundbiel forest clearing, from where you have a beautiful view of Saas-Fee and the surrounding mountains.
From here, it goes gently downhill through the forest towards Saas-Almagell. After a little over a kilometer, you pass the Waldhüs Bodmen. The Waldhüs Bodmen has a small animal zoo and is ideal for families.
Transport
The Saas Valley is easy and convenient to reach by car from all directions, whether from Switzerland or abroad. From the north, you reach us via Bern through the Lötschberg car shuttle. From the east, you come over the Furka Pass or the Furka car shuttle. From the south, we are accessible via the Simplon Pass or Simplon car shuttle, and from the west, you drive via Lausanne along the Rhone Valley to Visp and from there towards Saas-Fee.
**From Visp**, drive south towards Saas-Fee. At the "Killerhof" roundabout near Stalden, take the second exit to Saas-Fee. In Saas-Grund, turn right after the church towards Saas-Fee.
