Description
The winter hiking route leads right through the ski area of Saas-Fee on snow-covered paths up to the mountain restaurant Gletschergrotte.
From Hotel Saaserhof the path leads below the Stafelwald lifts in the direction of the valley station of the Felskinn cable car. Before the bridge over the Feer-Vispa river, the path turns right into the forest. The groomed trail leads through the winter forest and hill landscape, past the old waterwheel of Saas-Fee and the station of the Felskinn cable car. The path slowly winds up the mountain beside the pistes. The destination is the restaurant Gletschergrotte, which invites you to linger with its charm and the beautiful sunny terrace.
This path is also very suitable as a snowshoe hike.
Transport
By car, the Saastal is easily and conveniently accessible from all directions, whether from Switzerland or from abroad. From the north you reach us via Bern through the Lötschberg car shuttle. From the east you come over the Furka Pass or the Furka car shuttle. From the south we are accessible via the Simplon Pass or the Simplon car shuttle, and from the west you drive via Lausanne along the Rhone valley to Visp and from there towards Saas-Fee.
**From Visp** you drive south towards Saas-Fee. At the 'Killerhof' roundabout near Stalden, take the second exit towards Saas-Fee. In Saas-Grund, turn right after the church towards Saas-Fee.
