The winter hiking route leads right through the ski area of Saas-Fee on snow-covered paths up to the mountain restaurant Gletschergrotte.
Starting in Saas-Fee, a car-free village known for its traditional Valais chalets, the Gletschergrotte winter trail reveals the magic of the Saas Valley in winter. Among snow-covered larches, an old water wheel recalls the village’s heritage. Above, the Egginer and Mittaghorn rise over the landscape, while the Fee Glacier and surrounding 4,000-metre peaks create a spectacular alpine setting. At 2,000 metres, the Gletschergrotte mountain restaurant extends the experience with Swiss specialities, a sunny terrace and sweeping mountain views.
