The winter hiking trail starts at the Dorfplatz in Saas-Almagell. After a short stretch straight ahead, the path branches left towards the toboggan run. After the first curve, the path leads through the snow-covered forest. You pass the Heidbodmen valley station (running direction right) and shortly after cross the ski slope. After the second bend, you soon reach the hamlet of "Furggstalu," from where you can already see the top station of the chairlift. Once at the top, the two restaurants Furggstalden and Alpina invite you to stay. The return can be made by chairlift.
Transport
The Saastal is easy and convenient to reach by car from all directions, whether from Switzerland or abroad. From the north, reach us via Bern through the Lötschberg car shuttle. From the east, come via the Furka Pass or the Furka car shuttle. From the south, we are accessible via the Simplon Pass or the Simplon car shuttle, and from the west, drive via Lausanne along the Rhône valley to Visp and from there towards Saas-Fee.
**From Visp**, drive south towards Saas-Fee. At the "Killerhof" roundabout near Stalden, take the second exit to Saas-Fee. In Saas-Grund, after the church, turn left towards Saas-Almagell.
