From Schönried train station, follow Schlittmoosstrasse and the signpost "Fondue Caquelon Schlittmoos." After about 15 minutes on foot, you reach the giant [Fondue Caquelon](https://www.gstaad.ch/planen-buchen/poi/detail/fondue-caquelon-schlittmoos). It seats up to eight people and cannot be reserved. **Return:** You can walk back the same way to Schönried or extend your hike towards Saanenmöser, where you can return to Schönried by public transport or on foot. Direct access by car to the giant Fondue Caquelon is not possible.
Transport
The holiday region of Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, directly on the border with the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Lake Thun region, the Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and to all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant journey. Main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous post bus lines.
