Note:

• In Saas-Almagell the lakeside path between Webstube - Zermeiggern is closed due to construction work. At Webstube take a left over the bridge and walk on the left lakeside to Zermeiggern.
• The dam is currently not accessible on the original route (east). Therefore please walk directly below the road to the Mattmark restaurant. The half marathon course ends directly at the Mattmark restaurant without the lake round.

The classic half marathon starts at the round church in Saas-Balen, then leads through magnificent larch forests past Saas-Grund and Almagell to the hamlet of Zermeiggern. On historic paths you reach the damwall with a comfortably manageable ascent. Finally follows the most beautiful part for the runners, the 7-kilometer practically flat loop around the picturesque Mattmark lake!
