The route starts in Leukerbad, a well-known thermal resort in the canton of Valais. From there, the trail steadily climbs to the Varneralp, a picturesque alpine pasture with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Alps. After crossing the alp, it continues towards Crans-Montana, a renowned holiday resort on a high plateau. The route features well-maintained mountain meadows and breathtaking views of the Valais four-thousanders.

The route begins in Leukerbad and leads uphill via the Roman road to the Varneralp. From there, it continues towards Crans-Montana, passing through varied terrain with sometimes technical sections.
